Lee Roy Selmon's story is a mix of football scholarship for his parents and a commitment to his community. The first line of his family was that Selmon is the eldest of nine kids who were raised by Eufala by Lucious Selmon. He was also one of three siblings that represented Oklahoma on the field of football. Three of them made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's most effective lineman. During his three years as Oklahoma's starting quarterback, the Sooners went 32-1-1 and won two national titles. He received a third scholarship in 1975. He was also named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon earned a degree in education. Fourth service In the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. Following college, he relocated to Tampa and played nine seasons for the Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro for three occasions. He then began his professional career. His first job was as an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of Ten of America's top young males. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch larger and weighing 256 pounds in college as a player, captained his team for the year 1975. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993, as associate director of sports. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame through The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 and in the Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma awarded it.
