Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor Joy was born in Miami Florida on 16 April 1996. She is the daughter of Dennis Alan Taylor, a former banking executive and Jennifer Marina Joy, a psychologist who is a half-Spanish half-English woman. Her father, an native Argentine of Scottish and English heritage is her mother. Her mother is Spanish-English. Taylor-Joy is one of the five children, four are the result of a previous marriage to Taylor's father. They resided throughout Buenos Aires up until Taylor-Joy aged 6 and later moving to Victoria district of London. Taylor-Joy says the move into London was difficult and that she didn't learn English in order to prevent returning to Argentina. Hill House had to be her new school after she moved from Northlands. Her next school was Queen's Gate School, where she was a dancer and also performed in various productions. At 16, she left the school to make a career out of acting. Taylor-Joy was always aware of her desire to be an actress. She was given a chance by Sarah Doukas founder of Storm Management She offered her the opportunity to model.
