Lucy Liu is a voice actress singer and director. She's also an actress. She's attractive and skilled actress that has inspired many Asian actors to succeed in Hollywood. An early string of success performances in popular TV series resulted in her being popular for her role in the show on Ally McBeal, where she was Ling Woo. The fame she gained from the show was translated into film roles such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. In Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an impressive performance in the role of Japanese crime boss O-Ren Ishii. In the meantime she was a leading lady in flops of the box office like Rise: Blood Hunter were as well-known. After that, she started to sing prominent characters for animation films such as Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's character on Cashmere Mafia, a small screen movie, did not yield results. The role she played in the critically acclaimed police drama Southland helped re-establish herself as an established actress. Liu selects her roles with utmost care so that she doesn't get stereotyped in an industry with a lot of competition. Though she's proud of her heritage, she does not let that limit her creativity.
